!!! Important: Please take your laptop with you for the introductory lecture and make sure that internet access to the e-learning (Moodle) is working. Please register yourself in this registration course as well: !!! This module is offered by different divisions. The division selects the topic for the projects based on their research and education preferences (e.g., databases, information systems, networks, groupware, graphics, robotics, image recognition). Participants exercise systematic software engineering for a small system in small teams with a precise task description with tight time constraints (design, implementation, test). Intermediate results of the team work have to be presented. Design, project plans and implementation have to be documented. The Android Practical Course targets advanced students of Bachelor's and Master's programs. It's focus will be on security related Android topics. The basic requirements are skills in Eclipse, Java, C as well as Linux. Knowledge in Assembly is optional, but helpful for the reengineering part of the lectures. Students must have passed the 4th semester to join the course. The course will cover everything from Android foundations to app development and even reengineering topics. Its main focus will be on Android security again (e.g. exploits, secure data storage, countermeasures against software pirates etc.). Students will be able to talk about predefined workshop topics, beside covering own topics within the lightning talks (short presentations about a self-defined topic). Homework, teamwork and project work will ensure a strong practical experience throughout the semester. We will also offer an insight to our research by so-called "research tasks". Also we seek to offer projects with notable companies like Giesecke & Devrient, BMW, KIT, SecuNet, Weptun or even international partners like Texas A&M University, Gazoo and (via TAMU) NASA. It's also possible to work on own ideas, but these are ranked 2nd choice and projects by our division or partners have higher priority. As part of the international program we offer excursions to groups selecting international project ideas. Nevertheless these funds are very limited and we can provide financial support to a few students only. More information will be provided during the introductory lecture.
